What we store
- Reports. Company name, verdict, optional comment, optional response time, submission timestamp.
- A fingerprint. A locally generated identifier that lets us prevent duplicate reports from the same browser. It is not tied to your name or email.
- Account data when you sign in. Authentication is handled by Clerk; we receive a stable user id and an optional display name.
What we do not store
- No browsing history outside pages where highlighting is enabled.
- No resumes, no application bodies, no recruiter messages.
- No cross-site trackers, no advertising pixels, no third-party analytics.
Cookies
Two strictly functional cookies: one for sign-in (Clerk), and one for theme preference (gc_theme_mode). Neither is used for tracking.
Where data lives
Reports are stored in Convex (United States). The API is served by Cloudflare Workers. Authentication is provided by Clerk. We do not transfer report data to other parties.
Your rights
- Access. Email us and we will send you everything tied to your account or fingerprint.
- Deletion. Email us and we will purge it. Aggregated, non-identifying counts may remain.
- Correction. Flag a specific report from the dashboard, or email
corrections@ghostcheck.net.
Children
This service is intended for adults in the workforce. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
